Ink is a very lively, juicy, fresh natural wine from Burgenland in Austria. Based near lake Neusiedlersee, in the warmest region of Austria for wine production, Judith Beck winery has been farming biodynamically since 2007, aiming to respect the environment and produce the best quality grapes, using native Austrian varieties. This blend of Zweigelt and St Laurent is a super introduction to the red wines of Burgenland. Dark, inky red in colour, a blast of dark fruits, spices and fresh, springy juiciness leaps from the glass on the nose and hits the palate like a mouthful of summer berries. There are no oaky flavours here, although some time in large barrels is spent in the maturation. A fantastic natural red for everyday quaffing, it also has the quality to stand up to more serious foods.
