FINCA PARERA - FINS ALS KULLONS 2020

Finca Parera are fourth generation farmers, and have been tending their plots in the Upper Penedès since 1892. They have been organic since 1999 and biodynamic since 2013. The vineyard is currently composed of different small plots, with vines grown alongside cherries, almonds, olives and a vegetables garden, plus a small production of honey from their own bees. Some of their oldest vines are over 78 years old. Their wines are made with minimal intervention in the winemaking cellar.

 

Sumoll, Xarel-lo and Garnacha Blanca grapes are hand harvested. Vinified in concrete tanks with the skins without destemming. First the two white grapes macerate, then the Sumoll is introduced for co- fermentation with native yeast. The wine then ages in concrete for about 9 months, through the winter, to clarify naturally, before bottling unfiltered and with no added sulphur. This striking wine pours a show-stopping ruby colour with aromas of fresh blue and black fruit. Light, juicy and dry, you'll find flavours of cranberry, cherry, strawberry and watermelon, a flinty minerality, bright acidity and a tart finish. As rebellious in taste as in name. Serve this chilled.
