Mount Saint Bernard Trappist Brewery is the only producer of Trappist Ale in England. Brewed by the monks of Mount Saint Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire, Tynt Meadow English Trappist Ale adheres to a centuries-old Trappist brewing tradition while incorporating a distinct English character. Brewed using English barley and hops, along with an English yeast strain. This strong dark ale undergoes a meticulous two-stage fermentation process: first in the tank and then in the bottle. This careful approach ensures the rich flavour profile and superior quality. Tynt Meadow showcases a rich mahogany colour with a subtle red hue and a lasting beige head. This distinctive ale offers intriguing aromas of dark chocolate and liquorice, complemented by notes of dried fruit. Although full-bodied, it skillfully balances the flavours of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, pepper, hazelnut, and fig, making each sip a complex and rewarding experience. With time, Tynt Meadow undergoes a gentle evolution, enhancing its character as it ages. Initially prominent cacao and fruit notes gradually transition to lighter, tarter plum flavours, achieving a higher level of sophistication. This smooth yet layered ale concludes with a warm, dry finish on the palate, adding to its depth and complexity. Store in a cool, dark, quiet place.
