Named after the famous Belgian detective who was supposedly born in Ellezelles on 1 April 1850, Hercule is an imperial stout made in small batches, then lagered for 10 days in German oak casks. Considered by many to be a classic. Mild in flavour, with hints of creamy mocha and chocolate, malty but dry, with a hint of sweetness in the finish and perfectly hopped. It has a distinctive and intoxicating aroma of fresh spruce that fills the room when the swing-top is released - a unique house character derived from the strains of yeast used by the brewery and the fermentation in oak.
