DOMAINE BRETON - CREMANT DE LOIRE

Pierre and Catherine Breton both come from families who have been farmers and winemakers for four generations. Their philosophy stems from a love of the land - in 1990, they converted their entire property to organic and biodynamic practices - and their sustainable values are passed on through their children, who continue the family tradition and showcase the Bourgueil, Chinon, Vouvray appellations, and the Loire region as a whole. Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Grolleau. Hand-harvested grapes are co-fermented using native yeasts, and the wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation. Aged on lees for one year, then another 12 months in bottle. No filtration, no fining, and no sulphur are used at any point, preserving the purity and precision of the fruit. This Crémant de Loire pours a pale yellow to light straw hue, with fine, elegant bubbles that persist beautifully in the glass. On the nose, it offers a delicate floral bouquet layered with white orchard fruits like apple, pear, and peach, complemented by subtle notes of hazelnut, almond, and a touch of brioche or vanilla. The palate is crisp and vibrant, echoing those white fruits with refreshing citrus undertones of lemon balm. With its lively acidity and a refined, almost savoury dryness, this sparkling wine is both lush and balanced. An effortlessly elegant choice for any occasion.
