SALVATORE MARINO - TURI BIANCO 2022

Fifth generation winemaker Salvatore (Turi) Marino has run his wine project in Pachino, Sicily since 2017. A winemaker with a traditional touch, his focus is largely on local varieties, with a commitment to the region's soil and the balance of nature. The vineyard consists of bush vines, and the nature of the soil makes it perfect for natural vine growing and winemaking. He respects bio-diversity, and uses the lunar calendar to choose the right time for works in the vineyard, all done by hand. Salvatore adopts a non-interventionist approach in the cellar, crafting artisanal wines with plenty of character.

Ripe and intact Cataratto grapes are hand-harvested, de-stemmed, crushed and fast pressed. Macerated with indigenous yeast on skins for 5 days in inox tank. Spontaneous Malolactic Fermentation in tank. Aged in stainless steel. Blurring the lines between white and skin contact wines, Turi Bianco is bold, fresh and textured, tart yet balanced. Expect waves of citrus and stone fruit alongside notes of honey, almond, mediterranean herbs and a delicate, moreish salinity.

Vegan.
