Metic is the talented duo of Luca Hodgkinson and Jose Miguel Sotomayor, based in the increasingly interesting and forward-thinking Colchagua Valley in central Chile. Luca consults for many wineries in Chile and has his own business sourcing grapes from sustainable and in many cases organic vineyards.
 
Metic Merlot is made with 100% biodynamically farmed Merlot. Grapes are hand harvested and destemmed. Wild yeast fermentation in concrete vats. Long maceration of 35 days. Due to this being a young wine released quickly, the wine was filtered gently. No fining. A dangerously easy drinking, medium bodied Merlot with a juicy dark berry fruit-driven palate and savoury herbal edge. Well balanced, with a delightful freshness, a hint of smoke and cinnamon spice.
