Family owned vineyard Chateau Cristi lies at the southern tip of Moldova, one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world. There, amidst the rolling hills, clay soil and vast lakes, two brothers dedicate themselves to producing low-intervention wines that do justice to the sanctity of their surroundings. Grapes are from old vines planted in clay soil, wines are aged in stainless steel and intervention is minimal. The vineyard is also currently undergoing organic conversion. Dóldora - meaning 'full to the brim' - is made using Saperavi, an ancient grape hailing from Georgia, with a notoriety for producing punchy reds. Not a drop of that reputation is lost in its journey across the Black Sea to Moldova, where it is transformed into this juicy, ripe wine, bursting with refreshing red fruit.
