DAVENPORT WINES - PET NAT

Will Davenport has been making wines for over 20 years at Limney Farm in East Sussex, an old dairy farm with buildings that made for easy conversion to their new winemaking purpose. Over the years the buildings have been extended to include a dedicated bottling area and temperature-controlled store, and Solar panels now generate enough electricity to run the whole winery. The site is south facing and sheltered with mainly clay soils.

Crafted using the méthode ancestrale - the oldest technique for making sparkling wine - this is a naturally fermented, bottle-conditioned wine with no added yeast, sugar, or sulphites. It’s unfiltered and full of energy. Disgorged after 6 months on lees, the wine retains a delicate yeast character and a hint of natural sediment. Some prefer to let the bottle settle and pour clear - others embrace the gentle haze and fuller texture. However you pour, this is pure Pet Nat: expressive, untamed, and totally natural. Fresh, vibrant, and full of red-berry charm, made with zero additions and an organic soul, this is a white sparkling wine with a very slight hint of colour. This vintage sees Pinot Noir (57%) leading the blend, supported by Bacchus (23%), Pinot Meunier (11%) and Faber (9%). A much riper growing season gives this vintage a little more generosity and body, reflected in the 11% ABV.
